Vikra performed the opening concert “Star(e)s – Sguardi di luce e ombra (Glimpses of Light and Shadow)” at the Duomo Concattedrale San Marco in Pordenone. The program, which served as the cornerstone of the XXXII International Festival of Sacred Music (Festival Internazionale di Musica Sacra), explored the symbolic interplay between darkness and divine light through a dialogue between sacred tradition and modern compositional voices. A defining highlight of the evening was a world premiere commissioned specifically by the festival: a new work by the composer Aulon Naçi. The piece is set to the evocative texts of Mother Teresa, reflecting hope as a guiding light that pierces through the shadows of human experience. This collaboration highlights Vikra’s dedication to contemporary choral literature and its recurring role in debuting significant new works for international festivals.
