After performing abroad, Vikra returned to Trieste with a program dedicated to Boris Pahor. The sold-out concert, titled “Koncert Spomina in Dialoga” (Concert of Memory and Dialogue), took place at the prestigious Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi and traced three fundamental stages of the writer’s life: childhood in Trieste under rising fascism (Through Children’s Eyes), experiences in concentration camps (The Night is Black), and postwar renewal (The Miracle is Simply That Man Exists). The program featured contributions by Miran Košuta, Jernej Šček, Dunja Nanut, and Tamara Stanese, with graphic design and photography by Jani Jocif. This multidisciplinary performance was structured to reflect Pahor’s extraordinary resilience, creating a dialogue between music, history, and visual arts that made this a landmark event for the city.
The event was organized in collaboration with Glasbena Matica Furlanija Julijska krajina, under the patronage of Comune di Trieste, SKGZ, SSO, and the Libero and Zora Polojaz Foundation. This homecoming performance not only honored a towering figure of Slovenian literature but also showcased Vikra’s ability to lead complex, high-profile cultural projects within the most significant institutional frameworks.
