Vikra performed the Concert of Memory and Dialogue, dedicated to Boris Pahor, at the Kulturni dom Nova Gorica. The program, previously presented at Teatro Pavarotti-Freni in Modena and at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, was performed for the first time in Slovenia, marking a historic moment for the ensemble and the local community.
“The concert highlighted the ensemble’s focus and intensity, with carefully prepared interpretations offering a profound musical experience for the audience.” Under the conduction of Petra Grassi, the performance featured a selection of works by Slovenian and international composers, weaving together Pahor’s literary legacy with contemporary choral textures. The repertoire explored the writer’s life—from the trauma of the 20th-century concentration camps to the resilient hope of his later years. The event was organized in collaboration with Glasbena Matica, with the support of the Municipality of Nova Gorica. This performance solidified Vikra’s role as a vital cultural link between the Slovenian minority in Italy and the national cultural space of Slovenia, particularly in the lead-up to the GO! 2025 European Capital of Culture initiatives.
