As part of the interreligious gathering “Mir tebi, Evropa! Mir tebi, Balkan!”, an evening concert took place at the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Koper. The program included a solo organ performance by Jernej Mazej and a choral segment by Vikra, bringing together voices and spirits in a powerful call for peace across the continent and the Balkan region.
The musical program was divided into two evocative segments: it opened with the solemnity of the organ, followed by a refined choral selection where the repertoire was carefully chosen to reflect the themes of dialogue, coexistence, and spiritual harmony. The extraordinary acoustics of the Cathedral further enhanced the choral textures, creating a deeply immersive experience for the international audience. This performance stood as a testament to Vikra’s commitment to projects that bridge different cultures and faiths. By participating in such a significant cultural and spiritual event, the ensemble reinforced the role of music as a universal tool for reconciliation and mutual understanding in the heart of Europe.
