During the month of October 2022, Vikra participated in a project with Amici di Brera, recording the operina “Peregrin and the Giant Fish” (originally Fischreise), composed by Andrea Melis with a libretto by James Bradburne, based on a children’s book by Tom Seidmann-Freud. This poetic 1923 work, written by the niece of Sigmund Freud, provided the foundation for an extraordinary multidisciplinary collaboration. The recording was used as the official soundtrack for a film featuring the world-renowned Fratelli Colla’s puppets (Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli) as main characters. This artistic fusion of contemporary choral music, literature, and traditional puppet theater created a dreamlike atmosphere, giving a musical soul to the characters through the expressive power of the ensemble.

The final cinematic production was officially presented to the public in Milan on December 26th, 2022. This premiere celebrated the union of different art forms, showcasing Vikra’s versatility in high-profile studio recordings and its ability to lend its voice to international cultural projects.
